From grandfather to grandson - a family business for 45 years

Fazenda Soledade in Manhuaçu, Minas Gerais, Brazil

In Minas Gerais, coffee is largely harvested by hand - this is also the case at Fazenda Soledade. The hilly landscape makes the use of machinery impossible, but for specialty coffee, this is an advantage: only ripe cherries are selectively picked, which increases quality.

Three years ago, Emerson Filho and his family converted Fazenda Soledade to specialty coffee – a bold step toward the highest quality. This is because they have to find customers who appreciate the effort behind excellent coffee and are willing to pay accordingly.

We are proud to be part of the farm's transformation and its commitment to coffee quality.

Packaging = Facade at the São Paulo Market Hall

Before we left, we still had the opportunity to spend 14 hours in São Paulo. We used this time surprisingly efficiently and explored the city center on foot. Food is an essential part of every culture – therefore, a visit to the market hall was a must. Besides delicious and sometimes unusual specialties, we were particularly struck by the beautiful facade of one market stall.

The facade was actually relatively "simple" by Brazilian standards, but for us, it perfectly captured that Brazilian zest for life – colorful & vibrant. That is ultimately why we chose it as the motif for the packaging of our first Brazilian coffee. A real eye-catcher – and for us, more than just decoration: a piece of memory that we are bringing home with us.
